To mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the United States’ founding document, the Blowing Rock Art & History Museum presents a year of programming organized around the enduring prompt of the American landscape. This far-reaching exploration considers how landscape has evolved in response to shifting cultural, political, and social contexts; how artists across centuries and media have engaged both natural and built environments; and resists a single, fixed narrative—approaching landscape instead as a site of beauty and inspiration, as well as memory, conflict, and change.
“Thank you to America 250 NC and all sponsors for their generous support this year.”
