High Country Visions II

April 4 - 25, 2026 | Alexander Community Gallery

BRAHM is honored to celebrate the creativity and vision of High County Art Educators, both working and retired, from Ashe, Avery, Caldwell, Watauga and Wilkes counties. Highlighting the artistic contributions of local educators, this exhibition features works by Alyssia Ruggiero, Charlene Trestain, Courtney McWhorter, Dacia Trethewey, Emily Singleton, Erica Walker, Janice Harris, Lindsey Postlethwait, Lori Hill, Misty Hartzog, Rosa Dargon-Powers, Samuel Brown, Susan Payne and Susan Sharpe.

These talented individuals are not only devoted to their students, but also to their own artistic practices, enriching our community through both education and creativity. The diversity of subject matter and material is illustrative of the breadth of talent that local students are encouraged to develop thanks to their instructors' care and dedication. Their dynamic artistic practices excite and inspire.

This exhibition recognizes that creative education plays a pivotal role in shaping the vibrancy of our artistic community. Teachers nurture care within their communities, from the moment their students enter their classrooms and beyond. The future belongs to creative thinkers; arts education paves the way for the next generation of compassionate and innovative leaders.
