About the Band

The recipe for Mexican Hot Chocolate began bubbling in Boone, North Carolina in 2016 when violist Melissa Edd and bassist Willard Watson decided to join forces and become partners in life and music. Shortly after they were joined by percussionist Adam Ray and the trio created a sweet and spicy musical movement, and the recipe for MHC was complete. Performing a mix of instrumentals, love songs, comedic songs, and traditional American music, they call their sound Alternative Appalachian Jazz. In Spring of 2020 they released their first EP “Unrefined” on streaming services.
