Susan Sweet will give a talk on the "History of the American Quit" with examples of quilts from the last 135 years. Susan is an avid quilter, collector and a scholar of American quilting, she has taught a class at ASU on this subject. In her program she will bring quilts dating back to the 1890s to demonstrate how quilts can tell the story of our country.

To help celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Susan participated in putting together the "Watauga County History Quilt." The quilt will be on display at BRAHM through the month of December.

This program is supported by the America 250 NC grant by the NC Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
