Bob Trotman is a sculptor working in western North Carolina. He has received fellowship support from the National Endowment for the Arts and the North Carolina Arts Council and was recently named to the College of Fellows of the American Craft Council.

Kim and Paul Fuelling operate under the name, Mabel Studios. Their work can be seen in Branching Out: Works in Wood from North Carolina. In this interview they chatted with our programs director, Willard Watson, about their creative process, influences, and their view of the state of wood as an artistic medium in North Carolina.

Mark Gardner is a woodworker based out of Saluda, NC. He creates some pieces that are purely sculptural and he brings his unique decorative style to his functional pieces as well.

Mark Gardner is one of featured artists in Branching Out: Works in Wood from North Carolina. Originally from Cincinnati, Mark now resides in Saluda, NC. Both pieces in the museum are detailed with milk paint, a nontoxic, water-based paint that has been utilized for thousands of years.
