Art Lesson with Ms. Jennifer: Henri Matisse
Let's create a cut-out collage like Matisse!
About the Art: Look through images of Matisse's cut outs from the show at the MoMA here: https://www.moma.org/slideshows/29
Art Creation Guidance: Follow along with Ms. Jennifer!
For Doodlebugs (ages 1-5):
1) Watch Ms. Jennifer read "Oooh! Matisse”
Here is a collage made by Henri Matisse. Can you guess what it is?
(Hint: the title is The Snail.)
2) Now it's time to create!
Gather:
- One sheet of white or colored paper
- Colored Paper scraps (paint white scraps if you don't have colored paper)
- School glue, a small container and small paintbrush
- Scissors
- Pencil
Watch the “Art Creation Guidance” video found above to try to cut or tear papers to make your own collage.
You did it! Have your adult take a photo of you with your collage, and email it to Ms. Jennifer  Jennifer@BlowingRockMuseum.org
