It is an understatement to suggest that without creative minds much would be missing from the communities we live in and those places we travel to. BRAHM has nurtured, sheltered, and shared the work of countless creative individuals for nearly a decade and our town is much more vibrant because the museum was established here.

Visioning by the Trustees of BRAHM, the Town of Blowing Rock, and very talented architects located the museum where structure and green space both play an important role on Main Street. Planning included a location within the green space for sculpture to be exhibited.

Currently gracing the green as part of ‘The Rosen Outdoor Sculpture Competition & Exhibition’, is an engaging bronze sculpture by artist Gretchen Lotz of Florida. In her comments written for the competition she tells us that her sculptural influences come from ‘That secret place that connects us all to something greater and visual images demand to be born.’

‘Blue Nautilus’ may seem far from the Atlantic as it sits in our mountain green space yet it does speak to deep primordial oceans that once covered those mountains where creativity continues to flow.   View this uniquely beautiful creature not only ‘on the green’ but also from interior locations on the first and second floors of the museum.
