Oral History Feature | Keith Shockley

Keith - Good.jpg

Keith Shockley is a banker with Wells Fargo, while things can be all 1's and 0's Keith knows the important part are the people behind the account numbers.

"It’s all about relationships and trust, that is 100% what it’s all about for me. My position is called, “the quarterback of the commercial bank.” It is really cool to see a client come to you with an idea and then it pans out. That is absolutely my favorite part of the job, there is a business here locally that we literally started them from ground zero, and to see them do well and to see people just really happy that it’s here, that is my favorite part.
So “be the quarterback,” and be there for your client, be a resource for your client. Keep an interest in what you are doing, be curious and try to learn as much as you can, don’t try to just be right all the time and try and just get by. Try to actually help some people. "
