WHAT:  A partnership between the Blowing Rock Art & History Museum (BRAHM) and Blowing Rock Parks and Recreation to provide an enriching and active alternative for kids who are out of school for Watauga County Schools (WCS) Teacher Workdays and Early Release Days. 

WHEN:  Each "School's Out!" Mini Camp will run from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. 

GRADES:  1-6

COST:  $30/child for each mini-camp ($25/child for those with BRAHM family membership).  All art materials and snacks provided, however each child must bring a packed lunch.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• No need to register if you've attended before, but new participants will need to register. Students will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. The $30/$25 fee is due upon registration. You will be notified by return call or email that there is/is not space for your child. If he/she has not attended School’s Out! Mini-Camp previously, you must come in to fill out release forms before leaving your child.
• Required registration forms (Authorization and Release, Camper Information and Medical Release) may be picked up at the Blowing Rock Art & History Museum, the Blowing Rock Parks and Recreation Office, or may be downloaded as an Adobe .pdf file or Microsoft Word document and either dropped off at the Museum, emailed to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Mini-Camp, PO Box 828, Blowing Rock, NC 28605.  These forms must be on file at BRAHM/Blowing Rock Parks and Rec before your child can attend mini-camp.
• Capacity is 18 students.
• Your child’s safety is our primary concern.  The mini-camps will be staffed by the BRAHM Educational Programs Coordinator and the Director and Assistant Director of Blowing Rock Parks and Recreation, all of whom are CPR/First Aid Certified. The ratio of child to staff will be 10:1 or smaller.
• Participants dropped off at BRAHM will be greeted by a staff member at the entrance ramp from the lower parking deck adjacent to the building. On Early Release Days, campers can also be picked up at Blowing Rock School by a camp staff member at the dismissal time.  This adult will accompany them on the short walk to BRAHM.  Parents must arrange this per their child’s school guidelines.  Pick-up will be at 4:00 PM at the Blowing Rock Parks and Rec.
• Art activities will be facilitated by the BRAHM Educational Programs Coordinator, visiting Artist Teachers and/or college/high school interns.
• Limited needs-based scholarships are available.
