Let’s express ourselves by drawing a speckled trout for the 2021 Blowing Rock Trout Derby Art Contest
About the Art
Spring is in the air, which means the Blowing Rock Annual Trout Derby is coming soon. This year’s art contest focus will be on art depicting the Trout in the new Blowing Rock Memorial Park Playground, named “Captain Speck”. Young artists in Watauga County, 8th grade or below may submit your original artwork by March 20, 2021 for entry into this year’s competition. Materials:
Image of Captain Speck the trout
Paper
Pencil and eraser
Markers or paint

Instructions:
Draw two parallel frown shapes for the body of Capt. Speck. Add the tail shape, mouth, fins, eye, and gills.
Trace with a black Sharpie or crayon.
Paint with watercolor or markers for best results.
