STRINGS N' THINGS: OLD-TIME MOUNTAIN MUSIC

A fun and historical look at the old-time traditions of the central and southern Appalachian Mountains. In the Historic Objects Gallery of BRAHM.
Come help the Blowing Rock Art and History Museum celebrate the opening of its new exhibit, Strings N’ Things: Old Time Mountain Music, on Saturday, June 8, from 12.00-3.00 pm.
Come experience the rich heritage of Appalachian music with live performances, rare artifacts, and more! The museum and activities will be free and open to the public.
The schedule is as follows:
12.00-12.45 Rick Ward will present songs, stories and music from Beech Mountain
1.00-2.00: Trevor McKenzie & Friends will play old-time music on the museum’s porch
1.00-2.00: There will be a craft station outside during the old-time music performance with fun activities for children
2.15-3.00: Musician and instrument-maker Charlie Glenn will play music, demonstrate his instruments and talk about making them
Kid-friendly refreshments will be provided.
